My Coursework

First of all I have learned about important features on the front cover of a music magazine. I never knew the front cover releases so much information about its content. There are so many features that makes up the front cover and it has the ability to reveal itself to the public in a glimpse.

 

 

 

Skyline— Gives the public a interesting brief of the magazine which encourages them to buy it. At the top of the magazine.

 

1st Third— Top left of the magazine which gives the company its individual icon to the public. The Big white letter ’K’ shows Kerrang.

 

 

The Masthead— the word Kerrang is a word that rolls off  peoples tongue, it could stand for the sound of a electric guitar which which signifies the general rock theme.  Something that catches the publics eye.

 

 

Selling Line— Shows the public how popular the magazine is and encourages them to have it. E.g. World Exclusive.

 

 

Central image— The picture in the centre of the magazine shows the public who or what the main story of the magazine about. Also catching their attention as the image of the artist is well known.

 

 

Lure—Additional content with the magazine to encourage  the reader to buy it.

Cover Stories
Cover stories are very important on a magazine cover because not everyone will like the artist on the cover but may like other artists who show in the cover lines. They are a colour that would stand out from the mast head and background to catch the customers eye and use buzzwords that intrigue and persuade people to buy the magazine.
